The masterplan developed by BantaDESIGN for the WSU agri-tech research park created a pedestrian network of pathways and gardens that encouraged individual circulation between eight separate, flex-space buildings to form a personal community of researchers and scientists. The initial building design recapitulated the masterplan in a sequence of linked pathways with framed gardens at each terminus that relate to the vast, rolling landscape of the regional palouse. Daylighting through skylights and clerestories, with south-facing sunshades help reduce cooling loads.
